Temporary Car Insurance

Temp Cover Under 21

Are you looking to take out a temporary car insurance policy that allows you to drive a van or car for between 1 and 28 days? Many young drivers have you had trouble getting temp cover under 21 years of age. In fact none of the current insurers will insure you on a temporary policy if you are under 21 years of age. You will need to be at least 21 to be able to get this type of short term car insurance.

When day car insurance was first introduced you could get cover across the board. Of course the premiums were much higher for young drivers but at least you could get cover for a day, a week or up to a month. Many insurers soon found that the cost of insuring younger drivers was rising and becoming too much of a risk. Some insurers restricted their temp cover to the 21 and over age group whilst other were more conservative and would not insure anyone under the age of 25. This has meant that in the UK if you wanted to get a temporary car insurance policy and you are under 21 then you would be out of luck.

Under 21 temporary car insurance

If you have had trouble getting temp car cover then one alternative option is to get a no deposit monthly car insurance policy instead. Rather than paying for between 1 and 28 days to get covered you can get cover for as little as a month. This type of pay as you go insurance allows you to pay for your cover a month at a time with only a one moth minimum commitment.

Although this is not an exact replacement for temp cover for under 21 year olds it is the only current feasible alternative that means you do not have to take out a full years worth of insurance. Just like any other type of insurance you can get covered online by getting a quote by filling in your details and selecting your level of insurance cover that you require.
